Ivan Lewis is a self-educated entrepreneur with over a decade of experience in early childhood education and educational enrichment. He now co-owns the math and reading learning center he has spent the last ten years managing in Mukilteo.
In his youth, Ivan was heavily involved in Scouts, where he grew a love for the outdoors and a passion for service to others. He was awarded the Medal of Merit as a young teen and went on to earn the rank of Eagle Scout. He was active with scouting’s honor society serving as Lodge Chief for a number of years and was honored with the prestigious Founders’ award. Currently Ivan is an active volunteer in the Coupeville Cub Scout Pack where his oldest two kids are scouts.
Ivan continued his passion for serving his community by becoming a volunteer firefighter/EMT in Snohomish County where he met his partner. He responded to emergency calls in his community for five years before leaving in order to start a family.
Ivan has a deep set belief that politicians should be beholden to the hard working
people of his community; not to corporations, special interests and lobbyists. He has been active in the Democratic party as a grassroots activist, as a PCO and as a former chair of a Democratic Local Party Organization.
A father of four, Ivan resides in Coupeville on Whidbey Island where he is working on establishing a small hobby farm with his wife and family.
