About Camano Island Democrats
Our Mission
The Objective of CID is to promote Democratic priorities and to encourage the growth of the Democratic Party on Camano. CID is an educational & social club that will act as a gathering place for like-minded individuals whose purpose is to support, participate in, or create informational forums that are focused on Democratic principles.
The Executive Board
VISION: The Camano Island Democrats sees a bright future with broad participation of diverse groups working together to create a healthy, equitable society incorporating government of the people, by the people, for all of the people.
The Executive Board of the Camano Island Democrats is made up of: the Chair; Vice-Chairs; Treasurer and Secretary, and the Membership Officer. There are six voting members on the Executive Board.
Chair

Presides over meetings of the Executive Board and all business of the CID,
-
Presides over meetings of the Regular Membership,
-
Appoints all committee chairs,

Serves as ex-officio member of all committees and,
-
Functions as the spokesperson for the CID.
Vice Chairs (2)

Aids the Chair in all their duties,
-
Presides over meetings in the absence of the Chair per Article VII Section 3, and
-
Serves as an ex-officio member of their committees as indicated in Article IX.
Secretary

Records the minutes of the Executive Board and Regular Membership Meetings,
-
Provides a draft copy of the minutes to the membership at the next General Meeting for approval,
-
Maintains all meeting records, and
-
Serves as an ex-officio member of their committees as indicated in Article IX.
Treasurer

Manages all financial affairs,
-
Collects and disburses all funds of the organization. Disbursements shall be by check or electronic transfer, initiated and signed by the Treasurer. In the absence of the Treasurer, checks shall be signed by the Chair.

Prepares and files all required public documents,
-
Ensures that any expenditure under $100.00 shall be approved by the Chair or Vice Chair. Any expenditure over $100 shall be approved by the Membership via a vote at the General Meeting.

Serves as an ex-officio member of their committees as indicated in Article IX.
Membership Officer

Be responsible to keep an accurate list of current members and determine a member’s standing,

Take attendance at meetings and give attendance records to the Secretary,
-
Manage membership drives designed to raise revenue and bring new members into CID,
-
Proactively promote new membership, and
-
Serve as an ex-officio member of their committees as indicated in Article IX.
