ABOUT Camano Island Democrats
Welcome to the Stanwood Camano Community! Politically we are a purple community, with both Democrats and Republicans in office. Often initiatives that are considered “progressive” will pass by the will of the people. In past years, our community voted for marriage equality, decriminalization of marijuana and have worked to enhance reasonable protections for gun ownership. We support strong schools, quality healthcare access for all people and protections of our natural resources. We value families and working people, believing in equity and justice for all.
Getting involved in politics in our community can be confusing. We have two Democratic Clubs-The Stanwood Democrats and The Camano Island Democrats. These are volunteer led, membership organizations. Island County Democrats is a strong and active progressive voice in our community and is affiliated with the Washington State Democrats. In addition, our State is organized into Legislative Districts and Camano is represented by the 10th LD Democrats covering the northern part of Snohomish County, all of Island County and the Southern part of Skagit County.
Camano Island Democrats current;y meet online with ZOOM due to restrictions caused by Covid 19.
